GOP Super PACs Pour Over $3 Million into AZ-02 as Jonathan Nez Draws Over 75,000 Grassroots Donors
FLAGSTAFF, AZ - GOP super PACs are scrambling to save Congressman Eli Crane’s reelection campaign, flooding a district Donald Trump won by 15 points with over $3 million in outside spending, while the grassroots campaign of Jonathan Nez has received over 75,000 unique donors.
Nez recently made an appearance on MSNOW’s The 11th Hour with Ali Velshi, where Nez discussed his plans for working across the aisle to solve Arizona’s complex water problems and lower costs. Crane, meanwhile, flew with President Trump on Air Force One, the Qatari-gifted jumbo jet valued at an estimated $400 million, to a city outside his district, further proving Crane’s complete disregard for his own constituents and his willingness to cozy up to political elites while his constituents face rising costs, healthcare cuts, and a worsening water crisis.
“I hope Crane was asking Trump to reverse these dangerous Colorado river cuts, but I’m sure he’s asking for millions to fund his campaign because he knows he broke his promises to lower costs, stop endless wars, and release the Epstein files,” said Nez. “He did it all in the name of cozying up to his billionaire party elites.”
The desperate cash infusion from GOP super PACs suggests that former Navajo Nation President Nez's bipartisan campaign, built on tackling the water crisis, tackling corruption, and fighting high costs, is surging.
Polls show Nez is statistically tied with Crane, and up 22 points with independents.
The spending surge follows a disastrous attack ad rollout by Trump-aligned No Going Back PAC Inc. that repeatedly misidentified Nez with his Republican former vice president ahead of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, drawing national attention to Nez’s bipartisan record and the lengths Crane’s billionaire backers will go to protect their seat.
