Jonathan Nez was born in Northern Arizona and grew up on dirt floors without electricity or running water. He’s dedicated his career to improving the lives of hardworking families like his, not playing politics. As President of the Navajo Nation, he worked with the Trump administration to expand water rights for rural Arizona and broke with his own party to create local jobs and lower energy costs.
In Congress, Nez will bring that same problem-solving approach — working with both parties to lower costs and invest in Arizona’s water systems, roads, and bridges.
Born in Tuba City, Arizona, and raised in Shonto, Arizona, Jonathan Nez is Áshįįhí (Salt People) born for Ta’neeszahnii (Tangle clan).
