Congressman Eli Crane Applauds the State of the Union High Costs
Has No Plan to Make Life Easier for Arizonans
FLAGSTAFF, AZ — Jonathan Nez, candidate for Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District and the former President of the Navajo Nation, issued the following statement after tonight’s State of the Union:
Statement from Jonathan Nez, Candidate for Congress, AZ-02:
“Arizonans are struggling to get by because of reckless policies that Congressman Eli "High Costs" Crane supports. He's voted to protect tariff policies that raise our prices, all while slashing our health care - and tonight he applauded the failed economic policies of this administration that are hurting our families time and time again.
It is time our leaders, like our current Congressman, stop worrying about their party and billionaire bosses and start fighting for their actual constituents, who need action now.
I am ready to work with members of both parties to reverse these tariffs, find solutions to expand healthcare and ensure we are building an economy that works for rural Arizona.”
About Jonathan Nez: Former Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez, the 2024 Democratic nominee for Congress in AZ-02, grew up in rural Arizona, helping his family run a ranch without running water or electricity. Nez began his career in public service in his community of Shonto on the Navajo Nation, serving in a number of positions before being elected President of the Navajo Nation in 2018. He is running for Congress to lower costs for families, deliver water security to all Arizonans, and give rural Arizonans a voice in Congress. He lives in Flagstaff with his wife, Phefelia, and their two boys.
