Congressman Eli Crane Just Voted to Continue the War Driving Up Costs … Again

FLAGSTAFF, AZ - Late yesterday, Congressman Eli Crane voted yet again to continue the United States’ reckless and unpopular war with Iran. The vote came at a time when diesel is hitting record high prices and Arizona families are feeling the financial consequences of the conflict.

“We can’t afford Congressman Crane’s war. Crane is choosing to support a war in Iran that’s stretching Arizona families thin and unnecessarily putting our military at risk. We can’t afford to pay excessive prices just so Crane appeases his billionaire friends,” said Nez. “Families should not have to choose between putting gas in the tank and putting food on the table because Crane keeps pouring billions of dollars into this war.”

The financial toll is becoming impossible to ignore.

The unpopular war has already cost the country $38.1 billion, or roughly $1,200 per household.

The prices of gasoline, diesel, and oil are skyrocketing due to the war.

The cost of diesel recently surpassed a record-high $6 dollars per gallon. Gas prices in Arizona have increased $1.17 per gallon since the start of the war.

In total, people across the country have spent an additional $83 billion on gas since the beginning of the war.

The cost of heating oil is up 71% while the cost of jet fuel has jumped 56%, contributing to expensive airline tickets.

A report from the Congressional Budget Office also found the war was responsible for more than one-third of the increase in inflation this year. The CBO specifically blames the war for more than 40% of inflation during the second quarter of 2026.

Crane has now voted at least six times to greenlight the war in Iran.
